How Does the Grande Masterclass Work ?
“We lived unforgettable moments.”
That’s the one sentence everyone keeps repeating after the Grande Masterclass.
This event — truly unique in Europe — left a deep mark on every single participant.
Some left smiling… others left in tears.
Real tears. Real emotion.
Because during these days, they didn’t just attend a masterclass.
They played, learned, laughed, ate, shared, and lived intense musical moments alongside some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time — artists known not only for their brilliance, but for their extraordinary generosity, humility and humanity..
The powerful, unforgettable moments of the Masters’ private concerts and nightly jam sessions !
Every evening, the auditorium comes alive.
Private concerts by the Masters, followed by jam sessions where students and artists share the stage, the music… and the moment.
Every detail has been taken care of to make sure the logistics and the welcome are absolutely first-class
- Each study room is equipped according to the artist’s technical rider.
For Kurt Rosenwinkel, a musician-interpreter is present throughout the sessions to ensure total clarity and exchange. - The drum room features two full drum kits
- Bass and guitar rooms are fully equipped with amplifiers for all participants
- Professional sidemen are provided to accompany the Masters
- This setup allows for both intimate small-group workshops and full masterclasses.
The structure, content and flow of each class are entirely left to the artistic freedom of each Master.
WHO IS THIS MASTERCLASS FOR ?
No specific level is required to take part in the Grande Masterclass.
(We had to gently say no to a few very enthusiastic aspiring musicians!)
Advanced amateurs, semi-professionals, and professionals — like many of our past participants — are all welcome.
All levels are represented.
Our Masters are exceptional educators. They adapt naturally, creating workshops where they play with the musicians, meeting everyone exactly where they are — musically and personally.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE
Due to the high demand, we want to be very clear about one thing:
A masterclass exists to help you grow. To learn. To explore.
You do not need to be at the level of these legendary musicians to register.
(As a guitarist and organizer myself, if I were already playing at Mike Stern’s level… I’d probably be on stage with him, not sitting in a classroom !)
Please note — we can’t stress this enough:
This Masterclass is truly unique because each class is limited to only 15–17 students.
It’s almost like a private lesson!
